Plywood specific weight: weight of one sheet
Plywood is a wood-laminated sheet material made from a certain number of glued and specially processed wood veneer layers. Usually there are 3 or more such layers, and their number is typically odd.
Thinly sliced wood layers undergo special processing and are laid so that the wood grain in adjacent layers is perpendicular to each other. This is a mandatory condition of plywood production and allows the material to gain high strength.

Birch belongs to hardwood species. Birch plywood is valued for high resistance to mechanical loads, bending strength, moisture resistance due to special impregnations, and durability. Birch plywood color is yellowish white, in rare cases pinkish, with visible texture. The operating temperature range is from -40 to +50 ºC.
As is known, body weight depends on density and volume. Birch plywood has density, or specific weight, of 665 kg/m3 under normal conditions. When calculating mass loads of structures, birch plywood weight must be considered depending on sheet area and thickness. The average density of birch plywood does not always match the real indicators of a particular sheet. Measurement instrument errors also cannot be excluded, so the values shown in the table are averaged.
